Controls Engineer

Job Summary/Objective

The Controls Engineer is responsible for creating a cohesive and functional design to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes that are used with packaging equipment for bottlers, robotic case packing and palletizing, and case packing and packing equipment for tray, film and shrink wrapping.

Design, implement and document control systems for various types of automation and robotic equipment

Essential Job Functions

  • Wire machinery following detailed electrical prints.
  • Conduct electrical/hydraulic pneumatic design, peripheral device programming, machine PLC programming, coordinate the machine debug, power-up and machine validation with build and electrical teams and provide customer documentation as needed.
  • Coordinate the implementation of engineering changes and assist various departments with the implementation of new tools and processes and required training.
  • Program, modify and update a variety of electronic equipment with PLC, HMI, Robots AutoCAD, Motion Control, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Vision Systems
  • Manage the timely and professional communication of project schedule and status with customers, OEM vendors and IPM staff.
  • Create Description of Operation documentation.
  • Create hardware and installation drawings in AutoCad/AutoCad Electrical.
  • Create BOM for use of purchasing components.
  • Write PLC & HMI software that meets the expectations for customer requirements
  • Develop PLC and HMI software as per the requirements of the customer
  • Work cohesively with (internal teams) the EQUIPS team to provide documentation and training support.
  • Work with management to review and develop new policies and procedures
  • Ensure that products and goods manufactured meet quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot – Perform all diagnostics and analysis to troubleshoot, problem solve and repair
  • Power up electrical systems and configure hardware per application specifications
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned.


  • Proficient with various software MS Office, Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000, AutoCAD
  • Strong Rockwell Automation experience

Travel Requirement

  • Travel is required; approximately 50 percent

Human Resource Intern

Integrated Packaging Machinery, LLC is a growing solutions-based engineering and experienced project management company based in the vibrant community of Rockford, Michigan. We engage in the sales and installation of packaging equipment for bottlers, robotic case packing
and palletizing, and case packing and packing equipment for tray, film and shrink wrapping. Currently we have a HR Internship position available. The HR Intern will support the HR Manager in day-to-day administrative tasks and activities. If you’re ready to kickstart your career in Human Resources and build real-world experience with recruiting & onboarding, benefit
administration, coordination of HR policies and procedures, and other HR projects this is the internship for you. IPM has a fast-paced environment and individuals who can prioritize multiple responsibilities would do well here.

Essential Job Functions:
• Assist with recruiting process; post new positions on websites and job boards, screen
resumes, coordinate interviews, and update internal documents
• Deliver new hire on-boarding and monitors success of employee integration & program
• Assist in Open Enrollment communication and meetings
• Complete employee file audits
• Assist with new policy development
• Collect and update our database with new hire information (e.g. employment forms and
contact information)
• Help prepare Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents

Mechanical Engineer Intern

Essential Job Functions:

The Mechanical Engineer intern position provides engineering support to new and existing customers by developing engineering solutions for conveyor systems, case packers, robotic palletizing cells, custom vision systems and End of Arm Tooling (EOAT) as needed. This position also provides support for shop floor assembly, testing, integration, and installation.

• Utilizes AutoCAD and SolidWorks in the design of equipment and conveyor systems.

• Provides engineering input and support in value engineering customer requirements.
• Provides customized product input to support project quoting in the areas of Conveyor and Equipment Designs, Vendor Integration, and Customer Support.
•Engineers product solutions to meet customer’s unique application needs.
• Ensures exceptional Customer Care with consistent and timely follow up
• Develops and maintains communications in a cooperative and professional manner with Mechanical Engineering team members and others in the organization
